Journey Song to debut new work by Peter Amidon at a “Friendraiser” sing in Exeter

On Sunday, November 15th Journey Song will present an afternoon of song featuring the works of Vermont’s Peter Amidon (musician, educator, choral arranger/composer and comusic director of the Hallowell hospice singers). The celebration of song will be at the Congregational Church in Exeter, 21 Front Street at 4 p.m. This project is supported in part by an Alfred Nash Patterson Grant from Choral Arts New England. The grant allowed Journey Song to commission Peter Amidon to create a song for this a cappella hospice group. The piece, May Today There be Peace, will debut at the Exeter celebration. Journey Song will present a variety of songs from their extensive music for group and bedside singing, with a special focus on arrangements by Mr. Amidon.

*Of Note –

  • Priscilla helped make this grant possible through her work on the board of the Choral Arts of New England.
  • Mr. Peter Amidon and his wife Mary Alice are versatile and widely respected performing and teaching artists who for the past twenty years have dedicated themselves to traditional song, dance and storytelling.
    • Diana attended a workshop of theirs focusing on Folk Dance (aka Contradance) for music educators. Their works are wonderful!
